Priceless...

Taylor helped me make her bed one day after washing her sheets. The other day, she came up to me and said she is going to pick up her room. I said.."ok, but don't get into the closet". (If you don't know what I'm talking about, scroll down to see previous posts). She proceeded to her room, closing the door behind her. I walked in, a couple minutes later. She exclaimed to me, "Mommy, I made my bed, all by myself. You taught me that!" OMG! If you could have only seen her face after she said that, in her little voice, your heart would have melted, like mine did! I gave her a high five and hugged her so tight! Teaching your daughter something and her realizing it....PRICELESS!

A visit from Grandma and Papa Cernin

Knuckle up Colin!

Fred and Julie came down last weekend. It was great to see them and the kids just had a blast with them. (Of course they were...someone other than mommy to play with!) They got into town Friday night when I was heading to work. They finished up at the store with Tim and went home to relax and play. I hear Taylor didn't want to go to bed until about 9:30 (poor Grandma!). Saturday, was pretty much a lazy day. I made a breakfast casserole and we just lounged and played with the kids. Tim took the day off so he could visit (or nap, just like is father! Sorry guys...couldn't resist!) We then went to Chili's for dinner before they left town. It was great to have them, as it is to have anyone come to visit us!

Colin loves shoes....girly shoes. He is constantly putting on Taylor or my shoes on. Here he wanted to be Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. He either gets into Taylors closets where her old shoes are kept, or tries on the shoes by the door. Its a hoot. I had some heels by the door one day and wouldn't you know he tried those on before trying Tim's shoes on!? Maybe he'll be a fabulous shoe designer!! Free heels for mommy!

So after the closet incident with Taylor, (see next post), I started to feel overwhelmed with all the 'baby' stuff we still have. So I've decided to let go of somethings. For instance, the baby car seat. There is a huge consignment shop in Camdenton, so I figured what the heck. I'll give it a whirl. I really wanted to have some sort of garage sale, but without a garage, let alone a driveway, wasn't possible. I'd rather see this stuff sell, to someone who needs it and can't afford the brand new ones. Anywho, Taylor got a kick out of buckling herself in it. It was even more fun when I picked her up in it and started to spin her around. Man, she is heavy! I'm glad I'm done using it! Yes, don't be sad...no more little Cernin's for us. :(

Nap time for Taylor

So this is what happened one day when Taylor was 'supposed' to be taking a nap. (Yes, I know it's alot of stuff, but believe me, that day I decided to 'declutter' the toys in this house.) I wasn't feeling good one day, so after lunch, I layed Colin down for his nap, and I thought Taylor would do me a favor and rest as well. The good thing was, I got her to her room. She was quiet for the longest time. I heard her shuffling, around, assuming (which I will NEVER do again) she was just getting books, toys, on her bed like she always does. She even does that at bedtime. Because in the mornings, I'll find books/toys in her bed that were not there when I layed her down. Back to the point...Colin didn't want to nap on this particular day...which was even more frustrating...what Mom doesn't look forward to naptime?! So I was rocking Colin and Taylor walks out in excitement, "Mommy, I love this shirt sooo much!". This "shirt" (which was a sweater) was actually hanging on a hanger in her closet. So the light came on in my head, "how did she get that down", plus she had taken her pants off?!! So I got up with Colin, walked into her room and found this!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, all I could really do at this point was laugh my ass off. I'm not sure really how she was able to flip her toy chest over, but she apparently used that along with storage bin, to climb up to get ALL her clothes out of the closet, which were on hangers. She had taken everything out of the closet, except the storage stuff I have on the top shelf of the closet. The purple/green/white bike is her Smart Cycle. Now I have a hard time getting it out of her closet, how did she do it...without me hearing it!? Unless I really did fall asleep for a brief time, I didn't hear any loud noises in her room. The pictures really don't do it's justice!

It never amazes me....

Well, Taylor never fails to amaze me every day. Lastnight, I was getting Colin dressed for bed and she comes in so proud saying, "mommy come see what I did". Normally, I would think, 'Oh she's made up her bed, picked up the toys off her floor or in the living room'. Well, I walked out from Colin's room, looking into the living room and saw a blanket spread on the floor with pillows. I started to say, " Oh you made a bed on the floor, so we can be comfy cozy". She walked into the kitchen, and said, "See?". What I saw was water....everywhere...infront of the fridge, stove, under the fridge and stove. I asked, "where did that come from?" She pointed to the water dispenser. Go figure.....

Then, this morning, I was folding laundry in my bedroom. She came in was pulling a suitcase around with her..."I'm going on a trip" is what she claimed. All of a sudden I hear Colin screaming. She has him IN the suitcase and she is trying to zip it up!! AHHHHHH! I hope Colin has some flyer miles...HA ha! Unbelievable...I'm not sure what has changed her...she has started NOT to listen to me, pull Colin around, pull him onto her bed, jump on him...oh the sisterly LOVE. I can't wait until he can defend himself...I say that now, but I'll take it back when that happens!

Walk on the Rocks

Taylor and I carved the 2nd pumpkin yesterday too. It's a cool pirate flag! She painted the black line around the flag.

Pretty scary huh?!!

They blocked off the left 2 lanes of the lot and you just walk your way from vendor to vendor and they hand out treats...some Dasani, Pepsi, little cereal boxes, packages of crackers, pencils, candy, etc. The line started on the right side and you ended up at the top left side, with free hotdogs. Taylor ate 3-4 and Colin ate 4 hotdogs....I do feed them tooo! I'm not sure what the number of people were, Tim thinks close to 2500. Which is awesome! Taylor did an awesome job and saying "trick or treat" and the way she said it was so cute! I had a great time!

Free hot dog station to all kiddos!

Pillsbury dough boy was even there! Taylor wasn't sure about this one!

Isn't he the most handsome pirate you've ever seen?

Making our way to the maze. It had actually cooled off quite a bit, so Taylor wore her coat the whole time.

Tim came home for lunch yesterday. I knew when to expect him, but when the doorbell rang, I opened the door to this. I had no idea what his costume look like. So, no it didn't scare me to the point of screaming, but I was just glad Taylor wasn't with me when we opened the door! He was hoping Colin would be awake so he could scare him. However, neither of the kids were scared of the mask. Which really surprised me!
