Oh Christmas Tree!

I almost forgot to post this....I decided to put the XMAS stuff up the week before Thanksgiving. I thought what a nice surprise for Tim, when he gets home from Des Moines. Christmas seems to come and go so fast, I wanted to enjoy it this year! Taylor was very excited to help. Colin wasn't sure what to think when he got up from his nap. He would rather play with the ornaments, then hang them. This year, we also have an actual mantle to hang the stockings on.

Turkey Day at the Lake

On Thursday, we ordered a meal from Hy-Vee. It was a turkey breast roast, potatoes, stuffing, mac and cheese, pie, and rolls. All I had to do was heat and serve. (My kinda of meal! Ha!). It was delicious! Tim worked until the store closed at 2 and we ate around 4ish. Colin didn't like the mac and cheese (very surprising), but LOVED the turkey breast! He had 2 or 3 good sized slices of it. After dinner, we just relaxed and enjoyed the evening and later watched "Get Smart", which was pretty funny. Tim took Friday off, so I could work all day. (That's usually how it works). I went in at 9 then got home a little after 8, just in time to tuck the kiddos into bed! It was a busy day, but fun. I always loved this time of the year when I worked at Hy-Vee. Regardless of how many hours I'd put in, how stressed I (everyone) was, there was just something about the season that made work fun!

Turkey Day

The kids and I headed to B-town last weekend for our Thanksgiving. On Saturday, we arrived around noonish and ate some lunch then played some. Headed to church and had dinner at Josh and Chelsea's. Yummy spaghetti bake--Thanks guys! I think the kids had a great time playing. Josh and Jayden were at church and Jayden was so excited for Taylor to come to his house after. Taylor didn't even want to leave! Sunday was our big meal! Alot of yummy food again. After our lunch, I took Taylor, Jayden, and Colin outside. They had been waiting so patiently to go out. Dad decided to get his tractor out and pull the kids around in it...including the big kids. (Yeah, that was my idea...sorry...but you'll all look back and laugh some day!!! Ha Ha!!) It was a beautiful day and we wanted to take advantage of it. The rest of the day was spent visiting, playing, all that good family fun stuff! Later that night, Mandy and I went to Target to do a little shopping. It was fun to shop with someone other than the kids. Monday, the boys came out, as well as Kim and Peyton, and we just played, before we had to head home. Mom treated us to Happy Joe's, then we had to hit the road. Overall, it was a great weekend. Only wish Tim could have made the trip with us. I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! Yes, I know I take alot of pictures! Hope you enjoy!

Priceless...

Taylor helped me make her bed one day after washing her sheets. The other day, she came up to me and said she is going to pick up her room. I said.."ok, but don't get into the closet". (If you don't know what I'm talking about, scroll down to see previous posts). She proceeded to her room, closing the door behind her. I walked in, a couple minutes later. She exclaimed to me, "Mommy, I made my bed, all by myself. You taught me that!" OMG! If you could have only seen her face after she said that, in her little voice, your heart would have melted, like mine did! I gave her a high five and hugged her so tight! Teaching your daughter something and her realizing it....PRICELESS!

A visit from Grandma and Papa Cernin

Knuckle up Colin!

Fred and Julie came down last weekend. It was great to see them and the kids just had a blast with them. (Of course they were...someone other than mommy to play with!) They got into town Friday night when I was heading to work. They finished up at the store with Tim and went home to relax and play. I hear Taylor didn't want to go to bed until about 9:30 (poor Grandma!). Saturday, was pretty much a lazy day. I made a breakfast casserole and we just lounged and played with the kids. Tim took the day off so he could visit (or nap, just like is father! Sorry guys...couldn't resist!) We then went to Chili's for dinner before they left town. It was great to have them, as it is to have anyone come to visit us!

Colin loves shoes....girly shoes. He is constantly putting on Taylor or my shoes on. Here he wanted to be Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. He either gets into Taylors closets where her old shoes are kept, or tries on the shoes by the door. Its a hoot. I had some heels by the door one day and wouldn't you know he tried those on before trying Tim's shoes on!? Maybe he'll be a fabulous shoe designer!! Free heels for mommy!

So after the closet incident with Taylor, (see next post), I started to feel overwhelmed with all the 'baby' stuff we still have. So I've decided to let go of somethings. For instance, the baby car seat. There is a huge consignment shop in Camdenton, so I figured what the heck. I'll give it a whirl. I really wanted to have some sort of garage sale, but without a garage, let alone a driveway, wasn't possible. I'd rather see this stuff sell, to someone who needs it and can't afford the brand new ones. Anywho, Taylor got a kick out of buckling herself in it. It was even more fun when I picked her up in it and started to spin her around. Man, she is heavy! I'm glad I'm done using it! Yes, don't be sad...no more little Cernin's for us. :(
