Lake Holiday Parade

Last Saturday, I bundled up the kids for the Holiday Parade. Now, back in March, we went to the St. Patty's Day parade, and that was awesome. So I was really looking forward to the Christmas parade. Well, to say the least, I spent more time getting the kids bundled in their clothes for this. I was really disappointed. They had some neat things, Colin loved all the Firetrucks and ambulances. Which was cool, they had all their lights on and honking their horns. This is the first parade I have seen a port-a-potty in. They must be big down here?!! Ha! Plus the weather was pretty crappy! The temperature was 50, but wind would gust up to 20mph, so that brought a little chill to the air. Thank goodness for Starbucks at Hy-Vee to warm me up!! Overall, the kids enjoyed it, I think...they better have dang it!

Getting dressed for the cool weather

We stopped by Hy-Vee to see Tim. Colin loves climbing on the pallets. Doesn't he look cute in his Carharts?!!!

Taylor, your cookies look so yummy!! I made some today, too but they don't look as tasty as yours. Colin, you're a hoot with those slippers on!
Uh, a uh,... porta-potty in a parade?! That's about the funniest thing I've ever heard of. Only in MO (well, maybe AR, too, but...). Still, it sounds like your parade is better than any they have in Summit. 5 minutes would probably be overestimating the length of it once it gets to you. No floats, maybe one band (others are usually in their own town's parades), maybe a Boy Scout troop or two, or some school-related thing, and then Santa. Really lame.
